On January 25, 1937 Hoërskool Bellville got off to a humble start when 25 learners met in a roadside hall. It is now the oldest school in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town and one of the largest Afrikaans schools with one the most beautiful school buildings in the Western Cape.

Rich in culture, Hoërskool Bellville's choir participate in and win international competitions. They also have excellent performance in sport, dominating in cricket, rugby and athletics.
