Generating Solar Power
Founded in 1941, Boland Wine Cellar was created because a group of farmers understood that through collaboration, they could create better wine, and build South Africa’s burgeoning wine industry in a way that none of them could do alone. Collaboration is at the very heart of what they do, and it has led them to become an internationally-recognised, award-winning wine producer.
Boland Wine Cellar sources grapes from five climatic zones, all vulnerable to climate change. Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc and Shiraz wines are from grapes grown on the slopes of the Drakenstein Mountains, the full-bodied Pinotage from the Swartland; and Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon from pristine coastal areas.
Boland Wine Cellar is powered by a value-driven culture of ethical practices and sustainable partnerships. Going solar is a natural progression for them towards a sustainable future for all stakeholders. They now want to collaborate with you, the Sun Exchange community - solar power them and you’ll earn income from the sun for 20 years while they continue producing great wine for centuries to come
