Welcome to “the home of fine wine and fast horses!”

Avontuur Estate is a family business situated against the Helderberg Mountains near South Africa’s famed Stellenbosch wine region. The 110 hectare estate has it all: wine production facilities, horse breeders and stables, an acclaimed on-site restaurant, accommodation and event hosting services. It’s also in the process of establishing an apiary to help maintain local honeybee populations.

As a boutique wine producer, Avontuur bottles several wine varieties, a pot-stilled, hand-crafted brandy, and Méthode Cap Classique (South Africa’s esteemed sparkling wine). All its grapes are grown, harvested, aged and bottled on the farm to maintain the quality of its award-winning wines.

Impact and benefits

Avontuur deeply depends on climate and nature across all aspects of its business. The estate is going solar as part of its desire to be more sustainable and environmentally-responsible.
