Introducing Lisa Lyhne

It’s been a busy few months at Sun Exchange! We’ve closed a major crowd-sale to solar power a college and construction at our biggest solar project to date at Nioro Plastics is reaching completion. All this while continuing to building the Sun Exchange platform and serving our many thousands of members around the world. The team is now tirelessly laying the groundwork for 2019, which is set to be a year full of growth and exciting solar projects for the world to get involved in. As part of that effort, we are thrilled to share with you news that our very own Lisa Lyhne has been appointed as Managing Director of Sun Exchange. In this role, Lisa will lead efforts to maximize the efficiency of Sun Exchange operations and will guide the business in executing against the broader business strategy determined by the Sun Exchange management team, which will continue to be headed up by our charismatic and visionary CEO, Abraham Cambridge.

Lisa first met Sun Exchange through the business incubator programme ‘Microsoft Bizspark’ in 2014, in the capacity as a business mentor. At that point the Sun Exchange business was still a concept being developed by the Founder and CEO Abraham Cambridge. After 2 years of successful outsourced collaboration, Abraham subsequently appointed Lisa as Chief Technology Officer in 2016. Since then, her deep technical expertise and global business leadership experience have been instrumental in maturing the business operations of Sun Exchange. She has led the development team in building the Sun Exchange’s core line of business application, including blockchain integration. The current challenge is to knit together all teams in the business - including sales, marketing, finance as well as tech - so that the business as a whole functions efficiently. Sun Exchange is making the transition from survival-focussed to startup to a stable, reliable business. Lisa is key to leading this process.

Lisa is a passionate entrepreneur with over 30 years of technology industry and business experience, gained in South Africa and Europe. In 2015 she founded Jump Software, a software house focussed on building solutions for startups lacking in-house technical skills. She also previously served as founder and COO of software development company, Dariel Solutions, where she grew the team from five people to over 100. This underscores Lisa’s shrewd capabilities for formulating strategic organizational objectives and then building and empowering the teams required to deliver the work.

Sun Exchange is on an ambitious mission to connect the entire world to the sun. Since first joining us, Lisa has demonstrated her commitment to that mission and to our team. As we continue to grow, it’s more critical than ever that we operate as efficiently as possible while maintaining a strategic and dynamic approach to the business. We are extremely fortunate to have Lisa’s leadership of those efforts in her new role as Managing Director.

Congratulations, Lisa!
